Top 5 Christmas Movie’s According To ME!

December 21, 2011

Lets just call it as it is, its Christmas not holiday movies and i hate that we have to change everything so that we dont offend anyone.  This is my blog and i’m calling them Christmas movies…so there.  In no particular order here is what my top 5 movies for christmas are.

Elf – Will Ferrell

Why not, its Will Ferrell thinking that Christmas is real and John Faverau directed it.  If you havent seen it, you should to get a break from your “claymation” christmas tales and a taste of the new christmas movies.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation – Chevy Chase

If you have to ask why this is on my list…you shouldnt be celebrating christmas at all.  Hands down one of the GREASTEST Christmas movies of all time.  I love you Clark Griswold!

Gremlins

my argument for this…it happens during christmas, its a family tale, phoebe cates, gizmo, what happens when you dont follow rules.  your welcome!

Die Hard – Bruce Willis

My argument – it happens during Christmas Eve, John McClain, Professor Snape, Run DMC Christmas in Hollis, Yippee Ki Yay!

Die Hard 2

Are you gonna make me explain this one too…ok – happens on Christmas Eve, John McClain, Snow, reindeer flying into an airport, more snow, more Yippee Ki Yay

Best of 2010

January 6, 2011

Here are my Top 10 of 2010 in no particular order.

– Jackass 3D – I laughed so hard in this movie my cheeks hurt.  All in 3D!

– Social Networking – I had been wanting to see this since i saw the first trailer and this film did not disappointed.  if you havent seen this yet, do it!

– The Town – Was kinda worried about Ben Affleck making a movie like this but this movie was really good.  Just came out on DVD, go rent it!

– Inception – I would say that this is probably my #1 pick of the year if not then a very close 2nd.  Thank you Christopher Nolan for making me think at the theater

– 127 Hours – If Inception isnt my #1 this would be.  They switch in my head from time to time.  James Franco is amazing in this true story.  I’d drive back to Lawrence to see this again.

– Kick-Ass – the title alone should tell you how awesome this movie is!

– A-Team – Was very worried about this movie because i was a big fan of the tv show.  It was very awesome movie and the dvd made it even better bringing in the real Face and Murdock.

– Toy Story 3 – You wont see this often, a cartoon in my top 10 list but its Toy Story.  Great ending to a great trilogy.

– True Grit – Another movie i was iffy about being a big fan of the original.  The Cohen’s did right with this movie and John Wayne.

– The Fighter – It took Wahlberg four years to make this movie.  It was well worth it.  Great story, great characters.

Worst of 2010

January 6, 2011

In my humble opinion it was an alright year for movies.  Of course you do get the bad apple that hits the big screen but for the most part…nice job hollywood.

So here are my picks for Top 10 Worst of 2010 in no particular order…they all sucked just the same!

– Nightmare on Elm Street – i mean really, lets go and make one of the most feared bad guys a pediphile.  Umm, no!

– Jonah Hex – I have said that Josh Brolin could not make a bad film…i now give you Jonah Hex.

– Faster – The Rocks first film back since his Disney trilogy…maybe his next one will be better, or not.

– Resident Evil: Afterlife – Let’s steal an awesome story line from a great comic and try and make it our own.  I’m talking about Walking Dead for those who didnt read my review.

– Splice – The previews make this out to be a horror flick, guess what? it’s not…thanks for the false advertisement hollywood.

– Clash of the Titans – I thought that hollywood was only ruining horror movies, here is Clash of the Titans, i lost count of 18 things they ruined from the first and they are making a sequel to this.

– Hereafter – Clint Eastwood + Matt Damon hears “dead people” = dead movie

– Case 39 – A movie that had tried to be made for 2 years probably shouldnt be made at all.

– The Other Guys – A movie that should have been a lot funnier than what it was.  Thanks Adam McKay for bringing in the horrible economy undertones throughout the entire film including the credits.

– My Soul To Take 3D – a movie that was horrible in 3D and probably was in 2D.  Its like Wes Craven just wanted a warm-up before he gives us his new Scream movie this year.

Slow Friday

June 11, 2010

So, last night i started thinking about this list that i’ve gotten myself into.  I thought i knew how hard it was gonna be trying to get some of these movies but not like this, not only 8 into this list.  I’m renting movies from all the places in town, netflixing instant queue, buying movies.  I had no idea it was gonna be like this but then i think about it, if it was easy everyone would be doing it!  So i guess this is just me letting you guys know that i’m not quitting, i’m 8 movies in, and i did skip one movie only cause i’m waiting for it to show up in the mail but i will watch it.  8 movies in 11 days and i have 3 movies at home ready to be watched.  From the stats on wordpress shows, people are reading and i hope i’m keeping you entertained

Gearing Up!

May 26, 2010

Alright everyone, I’ve looked over the book (when i say look over i mean i’ve looked over the first 10 movies) and found out that all of them are available either on Netflix and or Family Video.  I think i’m gonna roll with Family Video because I wont have to wait on Netflix to send me movies then i get behind and it gets all bad…So the first movie is American Dreamz, kinda fitting with Idol ending, not that i watch Idol.  I did set up a twitter account, yes i’m behind on the times on twitter.  You can follow me if you want at twitter.com/tylerdurdenks  or however you do that.  I think its @tylerdurdenks or something.  Will also try and post my regular movie reviews on here so this will be your one stop shop for all my movie reviews.  Going out tonight to check out MacGruber and Shrek 3 so get on here tomorrow to read the reviews!  Later
